Never Forgotten
COCO ~ 7/19/2004 - 2/21/2013 R.I.P.
In memory of all those we have loved and lost...but never, ever forgotten.
One year ago today, I lost the brightest light in my life - my sweet canine companion, Coco. She was my Third Angel - an angel in disguise on earth, who helped me renew my belief in life, in love, and in myself.
It happened very unexpectedly and tragically, at an already shaky time, and for a while I couldn't find my way out of the darkness. Eventually, it was gratitude for her love that helped me find my way back to the light. This morning I lit candles in memory of her - their flames a reminder of the bright light that she was and the love that burns in my heart so brightly even when her physical presence is gone.
Not Forgotten
By Alexandra Day
My dear human friend,
A door called death has closed between us for the moment.
But could a little thing like that, break the bond of love and understanding between us,
Who have been so close?
Of course not.
Having left behind the body which no longer serves me,
I can be with you always and everywhere;
On long delicious walks, at quiet times, and lively times,
Alone, among friends new and old.
Let my excitement for life still brighten your days.
As long as there is a place in your heart which is the shape of me,
I will be with you.
One day you too will come through the door,
And we will be together in glorious ways we have yet to understand.
