The Dark and the Light
It has been over a decade that I have lived with clinical depression - and here's the thing I most wish I could explain about it.
Clinical depression is Darkness as a constant companion. Managing clinical depression is all about finding Shards of Light each and every day to keep the darkness from taking over your life. Some days you succeed - many days you fail.
One person describes the journey well when she says, "even when you’re basking in the warmth of the light, you’re always aware that the darkness isn’t more than a heartbeat away."
Clinical Depression = An intimate journey with the DARK and LIGHT. The journey is about learning to accept both; to make peace with the DARK and to embrace the sanctuary of the LIGHT wherever you can find it.
